How does airbrush tanning work?

The sunless tanning procedure uses a solution that contains dihydroxyacetone (DHA) as the active ingredient. This is not a dye, stain or paint but a chemical reaction between DHA and the amino acids on the skin's surface. This doesn't involve skin pigmentation or UV rays to activate the skin's color change. A technician will use an airbrush and spray the client from head to toe with gentle solution misting. Not only will it feel good, it will look like you've been under the sun for a while (without the burn)!
